Day 1 of Hatch saw each of the newly entered startups looking to make money. 20 minutes into the overview, each founder went out of the streets of Norfolk trying to make at least one dollar. One company 925 Jobs, made $9.25. Each company made at least two bucks in less than an hour. The Posh Packer got resourceful and took some old cardboard and cut out a version of their logo and had people walking by take a picture and charged a dollar.

This exercise makes founders think outside of their comfort zone. One Hatch company, MurMesh called upon their friends to make a dollar and they promised to send, however, all to often I have seen companies promised something with never being delivered. MurMesh learned a big lesson of money collection and went out again and made two bucks.
