The life of man’s best friend and in my case, not just man’s best friend, but office manager and employee #1. My pup, Ashebrooke, lives the entrepreneurial lifestyle or the lifestyle that many would want. He sleeps where and when he wants, gets all the toys and treats anyone could imagine and is resourceful. When he wants something he either asks for it or finds a way to make it happen. #TheEntrepreneurialDream
I never thought of Ashebrooke as an entrepreneur until I was discussing with my girlfriend how resourceful he is and how he gets his way, no matter what. Here are a few tricks he uses to get the results he wants.
1. Tell People What You Want From Them.
Everyone wants something. The challenge is that most are timid and never actually ask for what they want. Instead, someone else does and they get the props, not you.
In the middle of the night, if he needs to go, he wakes me up and I give in and let him out. He doesn’t beat around the bush and I know that if I don’t listen to his alert, the result will not be pleasing. So, I give in and let him out.
Goal: Go after what you want. Like, now!
2. Just Because You are Where you want to be, doesn’t mean that the result you want will happen.
When he wants to eat he will go by the food, run into me like a bull (in a nice way) or bark until I feed him. Annoying? Maybe, but he gets the result he wants. Food!
Or, if I’m not around and he wants a snack, he’s been known to open closed doors or knock-over a trash can and dive right in.
He targets his customer, the trash can or owner (me), and pushes the hard sell at the exact right moment.
3. Sleeps
Now, many say the key to a strong company is rest and if Ashebrooke’s rest has anything to say about this, it’s true. As I’m sure you’ve heard, the more rest you get the longer you will live, the happier you will be, and the more productive you will be.
Do you have an animal that is living #TheEntrepreneurialDream we’d love for you to comment below with a picture and what occupation they have.
