We’ve been impressed with a ton of simple but excellent marketing approaches recently. So, we wanted to share a few example with you and explain why we’re so impressed. The beauty of these case studies is that each example is so simple that you’re able implement these techniques immediately. No matter how big your company is, or how much of a marketing budget you have (they are all free). It doesn’t even matter what type of company you have. The marketing principles exercised in the following examples are all things that can be implemented into any type of business.

Escape Room Virginia Beach Facebook Posts

Escape Room Virginia Beach

Escape Room Virginia Beach

What They Did:

  • Every group that goes through gets picture taken
  • Every picture gets posted to Facebook
  • Drives traffic to the page since the people in the pictures will want to find ERVB on Facebook
  • ERVB also instructs people to tag yourself and your friends in the picture, which multiplies the post reach
  • All of this together creates an expansive and rapidly growing network base to send more marketing messages to

How You Can Do This:

  • Every time someone uses your product or service, create some sort of unique piece of content personalized to them
  • Whether thats a picture, like the example above, or a testimonial quote graphic, etc.
  • Post on the social media channel of your choosing
  • Tag them if possible, or prompt them to tag themselves and anyone else in the image
  • Tell them its there and encourage likes, shares, and comments!

Email Auto-Response

Email auto response

Email auto response

What They Did:

  • Deany was going to be out of the office all day for an event she was organizing
  • So she created an auto-response on her email that did a number of things
  • One, it told people where she was, including links to the events she was working
  • Two, it provided all the immediate contact information for her to allow people to reach her if need be
  • Three, it provided a Call to Action to her website so that if there were any questions that could be answered on her site, the person was prompted to go there and look around.
  • Four, it made her look busy! A busy business is a good business.

How You Can Do This:

  • If you’re out of the office for something business related, create a unique auto-response for that event
  • This will immediately show whomever is trying to reach you that you’re busy, which to an extent can validate you if this person is a potential client or partner
  • This is also an opportunity to provide some bonus exposure to whatever you’re preoccupied with, especially if its an event like in the example above
  • And if nothing else, you can at least prompt people to your website and drive some more traffic

Netflix Just Released

What They Did:

  • When you’ve released a new product, or written a new blog post, its important to drive people to it. Sometimes, just throwing it in with all of your other things doesn’t provide the spotlight it deserves
  • In the example above, Netflix is pimping out a new show they’ve just released
  • Rather than just tossing it in with their other shows and hoping you find it, they create a custom header at the top of your browsing page
  • They also make it feel catered to you with the “Netflix for: Richard” which makes it feel like the show was made just for you and you’ll probably be more likely to click on the play button and engage with the content

How You Can Do This:

  • When you’ve written a new post or released a new product, create unique space for it in a place that wasn’t occupied before
  • Create “ads” for your own products throughout your site
  • Build custom graphics for the new item, and embed the image onto your homepage, your most popular blog posts, your social media channels, your emails, etc.
  • Anywhere you can think to put the image. And make sure its linked!

Neil Patel Style Email

Neil patel email

What They Did:

  • Neil Patel is a master of SEO and driving traffic to websites
  • He knows that people will read posts and emails, and just skim for headers and blue links
  • So, when he sends an email to drive traffic to a specific post, he links that post 4 times throughout the email
  • Even if you’re just skimming the email, you can’t miss one of the links
  • On top of that, he doesn’t make his emails super flashy and image heavy. For one, that makes it less likely to get caught in a spam filter. And two, people have a short attention span, so they aren’t gonna read the whole email anyways
  • Short, sweet, and to the point.

How You Can Do This:

  • When sending an email that is trying to prompt people to a specific page, make it tough to miss the links
  • Whether you’re trying to push people to a blog post, an event page, a landing page, a product page, or whatever it is, don’t be afraid to link to that page more than once or twice.
  • Keep your emails short and sweet. People love to write long, heart felt emails that hardly ever get read all the way through
  • Keep it short, and tell the reader exactly what you want them to do!

Everything you do online is a marketing message, whether intentionally or not. So, be thoughtful in what you send out, and how you do it. Your audience won’t always hear what you want them to hear, or do what you want them to do, but implementing these techniques can help guide them in the right direction.
