Years Ago, 12 I believe, I was a huge roller coaster fanatic. I traveled as far as Los Angeles (by plane) and Indiana (by car), all the way from good ole’ Virginia just to ride roller coasters. So obsessed, that I made my family travel during our summer vacations to various amusement parks. I joined coaster clubs, wore a coaster related shirt to high school every day (seriously) and even had a license plate, C-O-A-S-T-R-Z. I originally even went to college to study mechanical engineering to one-day design roller coasters.

As I grew up, I moved away from this thrilling past time and lost love in the game. Recently, there has been a resurgence on wooden roller coasters re-tracking the rails the trains ride on, which has me all giddy and back in the love of the game.

Couple things to think about with this, one, always innovate two, change is okay and three, love what you do.

Why does this matter? Are you trying to team up with someone on a project or maybe you want to do business with someone, BUT you have no idea how to strike up a conversation.

1. Do your research on this individual
2. If you already have a meeting scheduled, when you arrive ask them what their hobbies are or were as a kid.
3. Don’t sell them, slow roll it.

So let’s practice: If you wanted to do business with me, but didn’t know how to hook me? You know what I like, so send me a video of a coaster you love or buy me tickets to a park or just ask me what is my favorite coaster of all time. It shows you care, did some research, etc., which makes me more likely to buy your product or do business with you.

It may cost you some money, but think of it as wine and dining, but personalized.
FYI. Millenium Force is my favorite steel roller coaster. I’ll make you guess what my favorite wooden coaster is…

My gift to you!
